How much should I pay for a home security system?

3 doors, 1 motion detector, 1 keypad, 1 siren, 1 control panel, 1 lawn sign, 10 window stickers, and a certificate to get a home insurance discount…How much is all that worth if they are offering free installation too? Is $34.95 a month too much to pay for monitoring?

What is the best system for home security?

Preferably something I can install myself

Home Security Burglar Alarms – Why Do I Need One?

It will never happen to me. I will never get burgled. This is the attitude most people have with regards to home security. They are really not interested as they often live in a secure neighborhood and feel protected, immune even, from crime so they don’t see it as a problem. It’s not a problem – until the day they get burgled.

Ok, there is no need to panic and run out and get the latest full singing, dancing burglar alarm system but everyone needs to spend a little more thought on their current home security situation.

You can no longer trust to luck that you won’t get broken into, especially with the economic climate as it is today. As people are losing their jobs, more and more people are turning to crime as they get desperate to put a meal on the table. You need to take action to protect your family and all the things you have worked so hard to achieve. For those that say it won’t happen to them, they are burying their heads in the sand to reality.

So how shall we protect ourselves from burglary and crime? Well now is never a better time to consider installing a home security burglar alarm system. This will significantly improve the protection and safety of your family, property and possessions. By installing a burglar alarm will dramatically decrease your chances of a break-in. A burglar does not want the hassle or neither has the time to overcome a burglar alarm system – he will simply just move on.

Still not convinced? Let’s look at the scenario that you have been burgled and you arrive home to a wrecked house. Personal possessions stolen and lost forever, family in shock and distress, damaged property where the burglar broke in, the list goes on…

You will need to get your locks changed and then put together a list of stolen items for the police and insurance company. All this could be prevented by installing a burglar alarm system. When choosing a burglar alarm it is best to go for a monitored system. When your alarm is triggered the monitoring company are called from your phone line and help will be on its way very quickly.

Don’t be another statistic – take action now and protect your property. It is unwise to wait until a misfortune happens. So many people get burglar alarms installed as a consequence of being burgled so don’t let this happen to you. Be one step ahead of the game and get a burglar alarm installed now – before it’s too late. Surely, prevention is better than cure?

Home Security Systems w/o Credit Check?

Are there any home security alarm companys that will install and monitor your alarm system w/o a credit check? I have looked around and the 2 that I found, popular, require a credit check and 2-3yr agreement. Is this how it goes or are there companys that will let you pay up front or don’t require a credit check. Thanks.

Do anybody have experience with the required wireless equipment update by home security monitoring company?

I subscribed to monitoring service with a Home Security Monitoring company. I have wireless security equipment installed.

Recently they told me that the government require them to replace the analog radio tower system with digital radio tower system. This results in I need to replace my wireless security equipment as well, otherwise it won’t be able to connect to the new radio tower. They charged me $100 for that. Since I’m still in a contract with them, I think I shouldn’t pay that $100.

So, do anybody have experience in this matter? Is the new regulation for real? Do the customers really have to pay for that required upgrade by the government regulation even when they’re still in a contract?

Thanks! I appreciate any inputs.

Nothing Short of the Best in Home Security

So, you’re a home owner that is desperate to discover each and every way in which you can improve security and safety inside and outside your home, right?  Right.  Excellent, because here we plan to lay forth the basic principles for guaranteeing genuine home security—in all the areas and ways in which that idea applies (it’s a much broader subject than most people, even home owners, imagine at first).  So, read on and discover just how you can be sure that you are getting the right kind of home security protection and, additionally, how you can personally take the initiative and the lead in implementing safety measures inside and outside of your house.

First of all, you need to make sure that you are receiving the monitoring service of a trustworthy company and that they have installed the latest, best security technology on your property.  Let’s tackle each subject in its own right to help avoid any confusion.

When it comes to the home security company that you will be receiving monitoring services from, you want to make sure that you are dealing with a legitimate and awarded enterprise.  A major clue as to this being the case will be whether or not the company has a lot of experience in the field: don’t invest your hopes for safety in a company that has only been operating for a few short years or decades.  The leaders in the security field have reputations that stretch back for over 100 years, and it’s thanks to that large trajectory that such companies have the skills and know-how to do what they do, and do it well.  Furthermore, beyond the issue of experience is the issue of infrastructure: seek out a company that has a robust team and the right distribution (geographically) to keep you safe.  With regards to the issue of geographical distribution, it’s important to verify that the company’s monitoring centers aren’t located too close to each other, as if this is the case you could theoretically be left without emergency dispatch services if these centers experience a black out—all at the same time!

Next, with regards to issues of technology, don’t allow a provider to offload their obsolete technology on you—demand the latest and best in the home security industry.  That means several things, including a wireless alarm system with corresponding transmitters for all controlled entry points; special, high performance microphones for your wall-mounted keypad so that it can serve as a two-way voice intercom that is useful not only from close up but from a distance as well; pet-sensitive motion detectors that help reduce the frequency of false alarms; and a variety of other technologies not associated with crime prevention or detection but rather defense against natural factors, such as carbon monoxide detectors, freeze and water sensors, etc.

The best way to ensure that you are on top of your game in terms of your home security, occasionally consult with a professional and have them give your property a once over to see if any issues are being neglected.  As always, don’t rely on others but take the initiative and act in defense of your home and family and neighbors.

The most reliable name in home security is ADT, which has been on the market for well over a hundred years. Their house alarms and other services will keep you feeling safe all year round, so don?t wait to become their customer if you aren?t already!
