A common practice for New Englanders is to head south when the weather gets rough in those cold winter months. However, being away for an extended period of time.

Also with this digital keypad you can get in touch with security professionals in seconds.  Because of advancements in technology in recent years, the response time of the security professionals has vastly improved. They are notified instantly if there is a problem and are able to notify and direct the correct emergency responders to your home in the case of an actual emergency.

Alex started his working career at the age of 14 when he was first able to get a workers permit from the state department of labor. He lived in Mystic, Connecticut, a small city that was on the Atlantic Ocean. The city was not too far from either of the two big casinos run by the Native Americans. Many people depended on the casinos for work, but Alex decided early on he was not going to be one of those people. Instead of that, he went and started his working career at McDonalds, where he worked his way up the corporate ladder a little ways at least.

By the time he was twenty one years old, Alex ways the day shift manager of the McDonalds, and he was in the highest paying position that the restaurants offered. He stuck it out a few more years and managed to save up a small sum of money. He took his managerial shift down to part time so he could start attending classes at the local technological school where he was studying to be a computer repairman. He was a high school graduate unlike many of those in the area, but he had a decent enough transcript to get into the school so he could continue with his education.

The college was not as grand as it had seemed before, but he graduated in a couple years with his degree and went on to set up his own small computer repair shop. Alex had enough money saved up that he was able to put a down payment for a small suburban home where he would also do his computer fixing. He equipped it with a home security system because he was planning on setting up a small office and computer repair shop in his extra bedroom downstairs.

As the computer era took over, Alex saw a tremendous increase in business. Everyone was buying computers, but no one had any idea how to fix them, which proved to be a great revenue generator for Alex. He was making home calls and also taking some computers in his house to work on. The extra bedroom became so full of computers consistently that Alex had no choice but to renovate his basement to become the new Operating Room for the computers.

Since Alex was constantly storing thousands of dollars of computers in his house, he installed a home security system to protect his belongings and the others belongings from being stolen by a home intruder. He also had homeowner’s insurance just in case something happened because he couldn’t afford to reimburse the customers for their loss. The security system came installed with a moisture detector that he but in the basement, and a smoke and carbon monoxide detectors all around the house.

That summer the state of Connecticut received record rainfall totals and puddles started to form around the foundation of the house. As it continued to rain John suddenly heard the beeping of the detector indicating that there was too much moisture in the basement where all the computers were stored. He ran downstairs and collected everything except for the bottom of a pile of keyboards which was now floating in the water. After this incident, he called the security company and they said the only thing that could really help for the water to leave was time. It was not cost-efficient to bring in water pumps, so time was the best healer.

He had been fortunate that he was still alive and no one’s computer had been severely damaged. He was also thankful that the security company had put the monitor downstairs or else he would be out of his job and in more debt for the next four years. He didn’t think floods were common in the area, but after that he purchased some flood insurance, so if was to ever happen again he would be prepared and spare himself a hefty bill.
