My Brinks home-security system was working fine until a long power-outage drained the system battery. When the power came back, the battery eventually recharged, but the keypad display remains blank. The buttons beep when you press them, but nothing works.

I called Brinks and they said this behavior is by design. They eluded to the fact the system could be reactivated over the phone line … but they ended the call because I’m not paying monthly to have the system monitored.

Does anyone know how to re-activate this system?

The ADT guy gave me a quote of 44.99$ monthly which was way more than I expected…so wanted to check what others are paying..and which company are you enrolled with (aDT, brinks..etc)

I have tried to price a home security system on line but they all want information which I do not want to provide yet. I am looking for a system with 8-10 window sensors and two motion detectors. Can someone tell me the approximate monthly cost and do you recommend the company you are using. Thanks.

I’m in the market for a home security system – I’ve been looking at ADT, Brinks, Monitronics – only guideline here is that it has to be wireless. Are there other options out there? Is there something I could setup myself and not pay a monthly monitoring fee?

i am on the fence with home security, anyone know the BEST price that Brinks can do for monitoring and smoke/heat monitoring? i am currently at $33.99 per month, and i’d like to spend less than $30 per month over 3 years, anyone out there have this contract in place (recently) or have any ideas how to get them down?
